This course has been designed to improve the understanding of the value and relevance of communications data, how cellular networks operate and how and where call detail records (CDRs) are captured. Instruction is given on the cellular architecture responsible for generation of CDRs, the meaning and evidential relevance of CDR fields and explore the benefits that an understanding of the data can provide in the evidential arena. The theory is supported by exercises that offer practical experience of the concepts and techniques required to interpret the CDRs.

This course has been developed and is delivered by telecommunication experts and former Intelligence Analysts with deep practical experience of communications data.
