This course has been designed to enhance research skills within operational environments by providing a thorough grounding in the practicalities of operational research and associated methodology. Instruction is given on the role and responsibilities of a Researcher, associated legalities and policies, the National Intelligence Model, the Intelligence Cycle, available data sources and collection plans. The theory is supported by scenario-based exercises and knowledge checks to support the learning objectives.

This course has been developed and is delivered by a former Senior Intelligence Analyst with extensive operational and strategic experience during their 30-year law enforcement career at community, force, regional, national, and international levels.
